Editorial Standards & Methodology
How we research, write, review, and maintain the content you read on AuraBean Studio — and what we will and won't claim.
Our mission
AuraBean Studio exists to make evidence-informed wellbeing education accessible, honest, and genuinely useful. We are a small independent team. We do not have pharmaceutical sponsors, clinical affiliations, or external investors shaping our editorial line. Our only obligation is to the reader.
Our editorial principles
Evidence-informed, not anecdotal
Every article and guide begins with a review of published research. We draw on peer-reviewed studies, meta-analyses, clinical guidelines, and guidance from recognised bodies such as the WHO, NHS, NIH, and APA. We do not publish wellness claims based solely on testimonials or trends.
Medical boundary clarity
We are a wellbeing education platform, not a clinical service. Every piece of health-adjacent content clearly states that it is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice. We include explicit healthcare provider referral prompts wherever appropriate.
Regular accuracy reviews
Wellness science evolves. We review our most-read articles on a rolling basis — at minimum annually — to ensure information remains current, citations are still valid, and any superseded claims are updated or removed.
Source transparency
Claims that reference specific research are accompanied by a References & Further Reading section citing the original source. We link directly to PubMed abstracts, NIH publications, WHO guidelines, and institutional pages wherever possible.
Plain language
We write for real people, not clinicians. Technical concepts are explained clearly without oversimplifying the underlying science. Where a concept is nuanced, we say so rather than flattening it into a misleading headline.
Balance and fairness
We present the weight of evidence rather than cherry-picking a single favourable study. Where the research is mixed or inconclusive, we say so. We don't manufacture certainty that the science doesn't support.
Content types & standards
Different content formats on AuraBean Studio have different editorial standards appropriate to their purpose.
Long-form educational articles (1,800–3,000 words) exploring a single wellness topic in depth. Each article includes: a summary of the current evidence base, practical applications, a FAQ section addressing real search queries, cited references, and a medical disclaimer.
Curated product roundups in the wellness space. Each list includes a "How to Choose" buying guide written by our editorial team, individual product assessments, a FAQ section, and a clear FTC affiliate disclosure. Products are selected based on editorial merit — we are never paid to include a specific product.
Short introductory pieces on individual wellness topics (e.g. sleep, anxiety, mood). These are designed as accessible starting points, not exhaustive clinical references. Each links to related long-form content.
Structured multi-step reflection programmes built around evidence-based frameworks (e.g. CBT thought-challenging, mindfulness-based stress reduction principles). These are self-guided and for personal reflection only.
Our content process
Topic selection
Topics are chosen based on genuine audience need — search demand, questions from the AuraBean app community, and gaps in the current educational landscape. We prioritise topics where published research exists and where the information can genuinely benefit a reader.
Research & drafting
The writer reviews primary sources (peer-reviewed journals, clinical guidelines, institutional publications) before drafting. Key claims are tagged to specific sources during drafting so citations can be verified before publication.
Editorial review
All content is reviewed before publication for factual accuracy, tone (warm but grounded), appropriate scope (within educational — not clinical — boundaries), and correct citation formatting.
Medical disclaimer check
Every piece of health content is checked to ensure medical disclaimers are present and proportionate to the claims made. Articles that touch on symptoms, conditions, or treatments receive a prominent callout box in addition to the standard footer disclaimer.
Publication & indexing
Published articles include structured metadata (publish date, canonical URL, OpenGraph tags) and are included in the sitemap for search indexing. Roundups include FTC affiliate disclosures on the page.
Ongoing maintenance
High-traffic articles are reviewed when significant new research is published, or at least annually. Outdated statistics, broken citation links, and superseded guidance are corrected promptly.

We prioritise primary and authoritative secondary sources. The following are regularly referenced across our content:
